Exporting metadata

TimeMap metadata (.tmm) files can be exported into either .html or .xml format for storage or for transfer to other applications. This is the same functionality which underlies the Template system. To export a .tmm metadata file, invoke the .tmm file in the Editor Window of the Metadata Editor, then choose
File > Export and then choose from > HTML or > XML. This will invoke the relevant Save As dialogue.

When inserted in HTML, Dublin Core metadata elements and values are presented as in the following example:

The data can be exported in this format from the TimeMap metadata editing software, for inclusion in web pages. The software can also scan an existing web page with Dublin Core metadata and import all recognised elements into the data for upload to the ECAI/TimeMap metadata clearinghouse.
