This window is where the process of creating and maintaining metadata takes place. Only one .tmm metadata file can appear in this window at any given time. On the left is the Elements Available Panel and on the right is the Editor Panel, which in turn has three tabs at its top left which switch the user between the three or four types of Metadata Worksheets contained within every .tmm metadata file. The metadata editor can be invoked in three ways:
1. When creating new metadata files, or editing metadata for datasets that aren't included in a MapSpace currently loaded in TMWin: select Metadata Editor from the Tools menu in TMWin press the large Metadata Editor button at the bottom of TMWin's MapSpace Manager.
2. To edit the metadata of a dataset that is part of a MapSpace currently loaded in TMWin (ie, the dataset is visible in the MapSpace tree on the far left of TMWin's Mapspace Manager): click on the dataset icon in the MapSpace tree and then press the Metadata Editor button within the Data Source Panel:
3. When introducing a dataset into TimeMap using the Metadata Creation Wizard, the wizard will invoke the Metadata Editor after it has run its course.
