TimeMap metadata facilitates the delivery of your data to other users through the TimeMap infrastructure. These elements are created by the Archaeological Computing Laboratory during the software development process. While Dublin Core metadata refers in general terms to the properties of the dataset as a whole, the TimeMap metadata often refers to the internal specifics of the dataset.
The publisher of the dataset can specify certain values in these fields which will determine the look and the content of the dataset as it is delivered to remote users. It is here, for example, that default symbologies can be specified for spatial datasets.
All TimeMap metadata elements begin with TM.
Note: TimeMap metadata requirements are constantly under review as new functionality is added to TimeMap -- it is therefore important to update local metadata definitions from time to time.
