Occasionally, the ECAI standard metadata schemes may change. This is particularly true of the TimeMap (tm.) metadata, which is constantly evolving and adapting to allow the integration of new types of data into TimeMap. This means that both the Elements Available Panel and the Edit > Insert metadata sets functions may need to be updated from time to time. The Update Local Definitions function allows the user to update these lists automatically, without the need for installing new software.
To Update local metadata definitions, open the TimeMap Metadata Editor and then either: press CTRL + T; or choose Refresh Metadata Definitions from the Clearinghouse menu; or click on this button in the toolbar:
If you are connected to the Internet, TMWin will regularly check if the Clearinghouse metadata definitions have been updated and may prompt you to download new definitions from the Clearinghouse.
